Dubai airport layover tour pickup: DXB Terminals 1, 2 and 3
- Terminal 3 is the Emirates terminal. Most Emirates connections land and leave here.
- Terminal 1 handles most other international airlines.
- Terminal 2 is mainly flydubai and some regional carriers. It sits on the opposite side of the airfield from Terminals 1 and 3, so a change between them is a drive, not a walk.
After passport control (and baggage reclaim, if your bags are not checked through), walk out to the arrivals hall. Your driver-guide waits there with a name board. Tell us your arrival flight number and we track it, so an early or late landing does not leave you stranded.
How much of your layover is really free?
Your connection is not your tour time. Keep roughly 3 hours for the airport at both ends: getting off the plane, immigration, and on the way back check-in or the transfer desk, security and the walk or train ride to your gate. The rest is yours.

The return buffer
We work backwards from your departure time, not forwards from pickup. When you book, we agree a drop-off time at your departure terminal that leaves room for check-in or transfer, security and the walk to the gate. During the tour your guide watches the clock and the traffic and trims stops if needed; the drop-off time does not slip.
- Already have your onward boarding pass? You can go straight to departures security.
- No boarding pass yet, or separate tickets? You need your airline's check-in desk, which closes before departure. Allow far more buffer, and tell us so we plan for it.
- Different departure terminal? We drop you at the right one.
Visa, bags and night arrivals
You can only leave the airport if you are allowed to enter the UAE. Check your passport first in our Dubai transit visa guide. Dubai International runs around the clock and so do our tours, so a 2 a.m. arrival works as well as a midday one.

Which Dubai airport terminals do you pick up from?
Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Your guide waits in the arrivals hall of the terminal you land at, holding a name board, and drops you at the terminal your next flight leaves from, even if it is a different one.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
We track your flight, so your guide adjusts to the real landing time. If a long delay cuts your free time, we shorten the route so the return time does not move.
How long a layover do I need for a Dubai airport transit tour?
As a rough guide, about 5 hours or more. Keep about 3 hours for the airport at both ends (immigration on arrival, then check-in or transfer, security and the walk to your gate), and use the rest for the tour.
When will you get me back to the airport?
We agree the drop-off time from your departure time when you book, leaving a buffer for check-in or transfer, security and the walk to your gate. Your airline sets the check-in cut-off, so tell us if you still need a boarding pass.
Do I need a visa to leave the airport?
You must be allowed to enter the UAE. Many passports get visa-free entry or a visa on arrival; others need a transit visa arranged in advance through the airline. We cannot apply for or advise on visas.
What about my luggage?
On a single ticket, checked bags normally go through to your final destination. Carry-on bags can stay locked in the private car during the tour.
